Run and overseas phone calls

I have been in workout gear since 7am and finally got the chance to run this afternoon. But on the way, I had a call from my sister in Norway… that was a great break!! I finished up the run but since I walked some of it, I don’t really know how far I went or how long I was gone. I know I ran the first 25minutes solid but walked a bit while I talked to my sister then ran some and have no idea for how long!

Interval Run

I was supposed to do repeats today but no treadmill so… I warmed up 5min jog, ran fast 2:30, jogged 2:30.  Repeat 7sets with cooldown after the last fast 2:30.  I must say, I’m pretty proud of myself that I ran fast/slow and still averaged 10:31 mile!

And by the way, my arms are STILL killing me from skiing… but I’m going again today!!! =)

Water Skiing!

Ok, so it’s not really a workout in the true sense of the word, but I know I’ll be feeling it tomorrow, so I’m counting it!

It felt SO great to be out on the water and on a ski again. I also got my 2 year old out on the knee board (she sits on her knees while I lay down behind her, wrap my arms around and hold the rope). She had a blast! I love sharing this part of my life with my girls. Living in Anchorage we don’t get much chance for water sports!

Run in the heat again

Tried to run again.  Not good.  Ran the 1st 2miles then had to walk/jog.  But, I did my 1st mile in9:57!

Heat Stroke!

I went running with my cousins in Corpus.  At 4pm.  In the sunshine.  One is a Marine, the other is a Rugby player.  They were kind enough to let me set the pace.  The first 1.6mile was fabulous.  I paced at about a 10min mile and felt great.  Headed into the route home and about 1mile out, died.  My legs and lungs were fine, but I felt like I was going to fall over every time I would run.  So I walked a lot!  I’m a wuss, but at least I went!  Hoping to run in the late evening or early morning instead next time!

Pollution makes a beautiful sunrise

Took a short run this morning.  The sunrise was amazing! With the mountains, we don’t really get to see sunrise or sunset.  Plus we have no humidity and very little pollution so the colors are not as amazing. Made for a lovely morning run.  It was cool starting out, but once the sun was up I knew I wasn’t in Alaska!!!  LOVE the warmth!!

Back in Texas!!

The sun is shining, the air is warm… I’m HOME!!!

The girls and I left Anchorage last night.  Flights went very well considering it was just me, my 2 1/2 yr old and my 4month old.  Everyone was so kind and helpful… and the girls SLEPT!

Now they are napping, I’m about to nap too.  My toddler was running around outside bare-footed and said “Mom, the grass is so warm!”

Hopefully, I’ll get a short run in this evening.
