speed intervals

I ran 5.7 for 3 min then 6.2 for 1 min until min 15 - I ran 6.2 for 2 min then 6.0 for 3 min.  It was easier than I thought and I’m looking forward to the next speed intervals!

First time back in the pool in 12 years

I have not done laps in 12 years.  I’m not really sure how far I went but I’m guessing about 1000 meters?  It felt good to do laps.   I’m really off with my breath though.  I’ve always struggled with it (which was why I was a sprinter, not a distance racer).  Remnants of Asthma and a wicked inability to breathe on my right side combine to make free an interesting event for me.  I could sprint free and go forever back stroke.  I’m just hoping my form isn’t horrible after being out for so long.  In the spring, I think I’ll meet with a master swimmers group or something.  We’ll see.  Either way, for now, I’m back in the pool!  And it felt great!  And it was much easier, logistically, than I thought.  Whoo-hoo!

Shoveling the Drive

It snowed quite a bit last night so instead of taking my life into my hands and heading to they gym, I stretched and hit the driveway. Wasn’t a too-difficult work out, but I was warm enough to take off my coat. I’ll try to get in some strength training later today.
